The color-changing material we use is designed to change at 18°C. This means the pigment starts changing color when the temperature is below 18°C, until the color change is fully completed.
However, in real use, when the temperature of the water or drink transfers to the pattern, it may be weakened by the outside temperature and the cup material. So in summer, if the water inside the cup is exactly 18°C, the temperature transferred to the cup body may actually be higher than 18°C, and the cup may not change color.
That’s why we usually suggest customers write in the product instructions: use cold water below 5°C or a mixture of ice and water. This can minimize the impact of the cup material and outside temperature on the color-changing effect.
Similarly, for heat color-changing cups, we use 45°C color-changing pigment. When the temperature is above 45°C, the pigment will start to change color.
